We are getting through the last of the weeks of winter but we still are relying on our furnaces, especially during cool nights. Not much is worse than turning in at night just to realize your furnace won’t turn on. If this happens to you, here are a few things you can check yourself prior to calling Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters each month. If you do not, they can become clogged, restricting air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Start by turning the thermostat up a few degrees to get the furnace to turn on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem silly, but confirm the power switch next to the furnace is “On.” Even gas heating equipment uses electricity so verify the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch was not accidently switched to the “Off” position.
If you review all these things and your heating equipment will still not start up, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 440-252-1375 and we’ll come out and take care of you as soon as possible.
