What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple of the most typical cooling problems in Cleveland.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment operating but there isn’t cool air being produced, you might need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it merely burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity can cause more condensation so another issue to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is blocked. If you can confirm these things, you may be able to pinpoint the culprit; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause significant cooling problems. Another thing that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be good to go. Remember that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your trouble, whatever AC trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you all day, every day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
