What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple of the most typical cooling problems in Cleveland.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment operating but there isn’t cool air coming out, you might need to have your refrigerant levels evaluated. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it simply burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so another problem to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is obstructed. If you can verify these things, you may be able to pinpoint the culprit; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause significant cooling problems. Another thing that could cause your lack of cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of many things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be back in business. Remember that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.

No matter your trouble, whatever AC trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you all day, every day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
