Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry

August 20, 2016

The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was honored to contribute more than 320 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in the Texas city.

“Last fall, I had the chance to get a group of people to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go beyond collecting food – they are an essential part of this community.”

Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to recognize her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent her younger years wondering if and where she would get her next meal. Minnie’s doesn’t just provide free, healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to incorporate the food they receive to make nutritious, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume help along with financial and job classes to help families get back on their feet.

Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to supply meals for six families for the month.

“Everyone was so ecstatic that we had this food drive for them, and they even took us around their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
